Cloudy conditions today
A change in Cyprus’ weather is underway, with periods of increased cloud cover affecting the island today. Winds will blow southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, while the sea will be slightly rough.
Temperatures are expected to rise to around 20°C inland and along the coasts, and about 13°C in the higher mountainous areas.
Tonight: clouds and possible fog
Tonight, conditions will be partly cloudy at times, mainly with mid- and high-level clouds. Locally, increased low cloud will develop, and there is a chance of patchy light fog forming in some areas.
Winds will turn mainly northwesterly to northeasterly, light at around 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will fall to around 8°C inland, near 11°C along the coasts and about 5°C in the higher mountains.
Rain and storms expected midweek
On Tuesday, the Cyprus weather will be mostly cloudy, with local rain and isolated thunderstorms expected during the afternoon, mainly affecting the western half of the island.
On Wednesday and Thursday, local rain and isolated thunderstorms are forecast across most areas.
Temperatures to ease back to average
Temperatures will gradually record a slight drop over the coming days, settling close to average seasonal levels as the unsettled Cyprus weather continues.
