Delivery drivers in Limassol continue to face a series of assaults, with yet another incident reported last night. According to police, a 24-year-old food delivery driver was attacked at around 10:15 p.m. while returning home on his electric bicycle in the Kato Polemidia area.
Targeted by thieves
The driver reported that two individuals approached him on foot and demanded money. When he refused, one of the suspects assaulted him, and both fled the scene with his electric bike. Authorities are currently investigating the incident, which adds to a growing list of attacks targeting delivery drivers across the city.
Rising concerns for driver safety
This latest attack marks a troubling pattern for food delivery workers, who have increasingly become targets for theft and violence during their shifts. Local drivers have expressed concerns about their safety, urging police to step up patrols and enhance security measures in high-risk areas.
The Limassol Crime Investigation Department (CID) is leading the investigation, and police are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the suspects. No arrests have been made so far.
The public is being urged to report any suspicious activity, particularly in Kato Polemidia and surrounding neighbourhoods, as authorities work to address the issue.
