A weak high-pressure system is affecting Cyprus, keeping the weather mostly clear and unusually warm for the season. On Wednesday, weak low pressure is expected to move in, bringing periods of light dust in the atmosphere. Temperatures will remain noticeably above average until the end of the week, when a small drop is forecast.
Detailed forecast
Today, skies will be mostly clear, with occasional periods of increased cloud cover. Winds will blow mainly from the northeast to southeast, and from the northwest on the western coast, light to occasionally moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to around 31°C inland, 29°C on the southern and eastern coasts, 27°C on the remaining coasts, and 23°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will remain mostly clear. Winds will blow mainly from the northwest to northeast, light to occasionally moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and the sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 15°C inland, 18°C on the coasts, and 13°C in the mountains.
On Wednesday, skies will be mostly clear, although clouds developing around midday and early afternoon may bring isolated showers, mainly in the mountains. On Thursday and Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy, with isolated showers or possibly a thunderstorm during the midday and early afternoon hours, especially in the mountains and inland areas.
Temperatures until Thursday will remain above the average climatological values, before a slight drop is expected on Friday.
