Authorities were mobilised after a vehicle caught fire on the motorway from Larnaca Airport towards Rizoelia on Tuesday afternoon (September 1).
According to initial information, the vehicle caught fire under circumstances that are being investigated and was forced to stop on the motorway’s hard shoulder.
Members of the Police and Fire Service rushed to the scene to extinguish the blaze.
Both lanes closed
Due to the fire, both lanes heading towards the Rizoelia roundabout have been closed.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
