Vasilikí Anastasiou presents her new album “Tis Kardias” (=of the heart), a collective effort born out of years of work and a great deal of love. The album consists of nine songs “of the heart”: beloved traditional Cypriot and Greek songs, along with a few original pieces, arranged by her esteemed collaborator Ermis Michael (guitar), with the participation of musicians Michalis Kouloumis (violin), Andreas Rodosthenous (bass) and Rodos Panayiotou (percussion).
The album unfolds as a unified narrative centred on vulnerability, memory and connection. At its core is the human voice, both individual and collective, with the participation of the Amalgamation Choir, which adds polyphonic depth and a sense of community.
The title track, “Tis kardias”, performed by Vasilikí, Giorgos Kalogirou and the Amalgamation Choir, with music and lyrics by Kalogirou, functions as the album’s foundation: a quiet yet powerful statement about what is spoken and what remains in silence.
The album’s first release comes in a handmade, limited-edition physical package, carefully curated by Vasilikí herself. Each copy is unique and includes a secret QR code leading to the songs, selected postcards, a Polaroids, a handwritten personal note and a copy of handwritten lyrics, transforming this collection of songs into an object of personal experience rather than simply auditory, a unique connection between the digital and the analogue worlds.
