The USS Mitscher, a U.S. Navy destroyer of the Arleigh Burke class, is currently docked in Cyprus, according to a statement by the U.S. Embassy in Nicosia.
The embassy expressed its gratitude to Limassol for hosting the vessel and noted that the ship is named after Admiral Marc Mitscher, a key U.S. Navy officer during the Second World War.
The USS Mitscher departed Norfolk, Virginia, on 25 July 2025, with a mission to deter adversaries, strengthen U.S. security, and safeguard economic prosperity.
