UK-born Cypriot suspected of leading cocaine smuggling ring

Date:

A 43-year-old man of Cypriot descent, born in the United Kingdom, is suspected of leading a major drug trafficking ring that has been dismantled in Greece.

The criminal network is believed to have been distributing large quantities of cocaine imported from Latin America. According to police investigations, the group, allegedly headed by the 43-year-old, purchased cocaine from Ecuadorian cartels, which was then converted into liquid form. This liquid cocaine was reportedly used to impregnate clothing that was imported into Greece.

Based on evidence gathered so far, once the shipments arrived in Greece, the organisation transported them to an apartment that functioned as a chemical lab. There, the cocaine was extracted, processed, adulterated, and repackaged for further distribution to buyers.

Three additional individuals have already been arrested in connection with the case.
