UK Bases notify local leaders: Situation stable

Date:

The British Bases in Dhekelia remain calm after a drone strike at the Akrotiri military base, authorities confirmed.

Late Monday afternoon, the Base Administration sent a notice to the mayors and community leaders of Paralimni, Deryneia, and Ayia Napa informing them of the incident.

Authorities inform communities

The notice described a “recent UAV (drone) strike on the Akrotiri military installations” and instructed leaders to share the information with residents so they understand the current situation.

Officials stressed that “no action is required from local communities beyond staying informed” and promised to provide immediate updates if the situation changes or measures become necessary.

Base administration available 24/7

The Base Administration also reassured local leaders that they can call at any time for clarifications or questions.

Social media reports of an explosion in the Dhekelia area on Monday night proved unverified, with authorities confirming that no such event occurred.
