Reinforcements amid regional tensions
Two UK helicopters have arrived at the British Bases in Cyprus, according to a post by the UK Ministry of Defence.
The arrival of the helicopters comes at a time of renewed instability in the region, underlining the strategic importance of Cyprus in ongoing military operations.
Advanced surveillance capabilities
According to the UK Ministry of Defence, the helicopters- Merlin Crowsnest aircraft- can operate at altitudes of up to 1.6 kilometres.
The helicopters are equipped to provide long-range aerial surveillance and monitoring across maritime, land, and air environments, significantly enhancing reconnaissance capabilities.
