Two injured after National Guard vehicle overturns in training

An armored vehicle of the National Guard overturned shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday 25 of November during a training exercise on a driving course near Klirou, in the Nicosia district.

According to early information, two National Guard members were taken to the Emergency Department of Nicosia General Hospital. However, their condition is not considered serious.

The causes of the accident are under investigation, and the Ministry of Defence has been informed.

Statement from the Ministry of Defence

The Ministry of Defence announces that during a training exercise, on a driving course in the Klirou area, a CASCAVEL-type armored vehicle carrying three individuals overturned.

Minor injuries were recorded in the accident. First aid was provided at the scene, and the injured were taken by an OKYPY ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital for further examinations.

A probe has been ordered to determine the causes of the accident.
