Police are investigating a serious attack in Paphos after two delivery riders reported being assaulted by a group of masked individuals late on Saturday night.
The incident took place in Paphos between 21:00 and 21:30, according to the complaint filed by the victims, aged 21 and 22.
The two men told police they were attacked while working as food delivery riders in the area.
Masked group threw objects
According to the complaint, the attackers wore hoods and face coverings and launched a violent assault, throwing stones, wooden objects and bottles.
One of the individuals was reportedly carrying a knife.
The victims abandoned their mopeds at the scene as the attack escalated, with the attackers causing damage to the vehicles.
A food order placed in one of the delivery boxes was also allegedly stolen during the incident.
Second attack reported later
The victims further reported that at around 22:30 the same night, while in a nearby area, they were again targeted in a second attack.
During the second incident, the group allegedly threw stones and wooden objects at them.
The two men filed their official complaint shortly after midnight on Sunday.
The 22-year-old sustained a leg injury during the assault. He was treated at Paphos General Hospital and later discharged.
Police investigation underway
The case is being investigated by the Paphos Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Authorities are continuing efforts to identify those involved in the attack.
