Rescue operations underway
Rescue teams recovered two bodies from the rubble of a residential building in Haifa, central Israel, after it was hit by a missile launched by Iran. Authorities fear two more people may still be trapped under the debris.
Search for missing residents
On Sunday, dozens of rescuers and firefighters searched the wreckage of a multi-storey building in northern Haifa, looking for three missing individuals following the missile attack. Four people were reported injured, including an infant, according to Magen David Adom, Israel’s equivalent of the Red Cross.
Building heavily damaged
The seven-storey building was almost completely destroyed, with rescue operations continuing into the night under floodlights. Israeli armed forces reported intercepting five missiles fired from Iran, activating air defence systems to mitigate the attack.
