Donald Trump achieved a significant victory over Kamala Harris in the U.S. presidential election, supported by voters concerned about the economy and immigration. According to national exit polls, Americans are dissatisfied with the direction of the country, with 61% of those who believe the country is on the wrong track voting for Trump.
Trump maintained or even increased support among groups such as Black men and younger voters under 45, while also gaining support from white women and Hispanic voters in states like Nevada and Arizona.
Harris, on the other hand, focused on the right to abortion, garnering support from women who advocate for protecting this right, as well as a significant number of African American women.
In terms of age, Trump has a slight lead among male voters aged 18-44, with strong support from voters over 45. However, he lost votes among older voters in states like Wisconsin and Michigan.
European leaders are congratulating Trump on his victory in the U.S. presidential election. French President Emmanuel Macron expressed readiness to work with him for a second time.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni praised the “unshakeable alliance” with the U.S., stating that this relationship will be further strengthened. posted:
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also congratulated Trump, appreciating his commitment to “peace through strength,” which he believes will bring justice closer to Ukraine.
The Kremlin has acknowledged Trump’s apparent victory but noted there are no current plans for Putin to offer congratulations, with spokesperson Dmitry Peskov highlighting that U.S.-Russia relations remain strained. Although Trump has shown support for Putin on certain issues, such as election interference, he has also condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Reports indicate that Trump and Putin have kept in occasional contact since 2021.
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte highlighted that Trump’s leadership will be “crucial” amid rising challenges.
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala expressed his desire to maintain good relations between the two countries for the benefit of their citizens.
Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis also extended their congratulations.
