Trump named in Epstein flight logs

Date:

US Justice Department released over 8,000 new Epstein case files on Tuesday, including videos, audio, and jail footage from August 2019 when Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide. Documents first mention President Donald Trump, showing he flew on Epstein’s private jet eight times in the 1990s – more than previously known.

Files include a coded letter from Prince Andrew requesting new girls. Department warns some contain false claims, stressing victim privacy delayed full release past December 19 deadline.

Democrats accuse delay cover-up

Democrats and 15 victims criticize “extreme” redactions exposing identities without explanation. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer calls it a cover-up to shield Trump, who appears in Epstein photos. Victims decry partial release, leaving many documents hidden.

Trump’s MAGA base pushed for disclosure despite initial administration resistance. Trump signed the November law mandating non-classified files after congressional pressure.

Flight logs detail Trump trips

New York prosecutor’s email from January 7, 2020, cites logs: Trump took at least four flights with Ghislaine Maxwell, serving a 20-year sentence for aiding Epstein’s minor sex abuse. One flight carried only Epstein, Trump, and an unnamed 20-year-old woman. Two others had potential Maxwell case witnesses.

2021 email notes photo of Trump and Maxwell found on Steve Bannon’s phone, withheld by the government. White House did not immediately comment.

Trump defends past ties

From Mar-a-Lago, Trump expressed concern over innocent people harmed by photos showing Epstein’s friendships. “Everyone was friendly with this guy,” he said, noting Bill Clinton’s ties, too. Trump claims he severed contact before Epstein faced justice, denying knowledge of crimes.

Justice Department statement: Claims against Trump are baseless, fabricated pre-2020 election for headlines, never credible enough for use.
