The so-called “trial” of two Greek Cypriots accused by the occupation regime of breaching personal data and privacy laws will continue in the “district court” in occupied Trikomo on Tuesday 9 December at 12:00 noon and Thursday 11 December at 13:30.
On Monday a female “police” translator read out messages from a communication app between the Turkish Cypriot estate agent Altay Uzunoglu – also “detained” in the case – and a Greek Cypriot unconnected to the proceedings but mentioned earlier.
The conversation concerned real estate in the occupied areas owned by the Greek Cypriot, including a financial transaction via lawyer Murat Metin Haki’s office. The messages detailed property ownership post-1974.
The Greek Cypriot had also emailed one of the two accused Greek Cypriot women, who did not reply.
Defence lawyers claimed translation errors.
