A stabbing incident in Switzerland has left three people injured after a 31-year-old Swiss man allegedly attacked pedestrians at a railway station near Zurich, police said.
The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident at the Winterthur train station, according to the cantonal police of Zurich.
Attack took place at busy train station
Police said the attack occurred shortly after 8:30am when a man allegedly stabbed three individuals at the station.
The suspect, identified as a 31-year-old Swiss national, was detained at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the motive behind the stabbing is still under investigation.
Victims hospitalised
The three victims, all Swiss nationals aged 28, 43 and 52, were taken to hospital for treatment following the attack.
Their current condition has not been officially disclosed.
Investigation ongoing
Swiss police said investigators are working to determine the circumstances and possible motives behind the attack.
Footage reportedly broadcast by local media showed a man running near the station shouting religious phrases, though authorities have not confirmed any link to the motive.
The stabbing has prompted heightened attention in Switzerland as authorities continue their inquiry.
