The weather will be mainly clear today, although locally increased cloud cover will appear at times, according to the Department of Meteorology. Isolated showers may occur in mountainous areas after midday.
Winds will initially be variable and light at 3 Beaufort before gradually becoming mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. On southern coasts, winds will temporarily reach 4 to 5 Beaufort in the afternoon.
The sea will generally be calm to slightly rough.
Temperatures will rise to around 39C inland, 32C on the west and southwest coasts, 35C on the remaining coastal areas and 30C in the highest mountains.
Clear skies overnight
Tonight, the weather will remain mainly clear, while temporarily increased low cloud will affect coastal areas.
Later and during the early morning hours, thin mist or fog is expected to form locally, mainly in inland and eastern areas.
Winds will gradually become downslope and locally variable, remaining light at 3 Beaufort. The sea will remain generally calm to slightly rough.
Temperatures will fall to around 23C inland, 25C on the coasts and 20C in the highest mountains.
Mostly clear through Friday
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the weather will remain mainly clear across most of the island, with occasional locally increased cloud.
Isolated showers or an isolated thunderstorm may develop in mountainous areas after midday.
Temperatures will remain at the same levels until Thursday, staying above the seasonal average. A slight drop is expected on Friday, bringing temperatures close to and slightly above the average climatic values.
