Date:

Summer conditions continue across Cyprus, with mainly clear skies and temperatures climbing to 35°C inland today. Forecasters expect stable weather to continue through Thursday before a possible change arrives on Friday.

Mostly sunny conditions today

A weak low-pressure system continues to affect the region.

Today, the weather will remain mostly clear across the island, although locally increased cloud cover may develop during the early afternoon, mainly over mountainous areas.

Winds will initially be variable and weak at around 3 Beaufort before gradually shifting mainly south-westerly to north-westerly at weak to moderate strength, between 3 and 4 Beaufort. Sea conditions will remain calm to slightly rough.

Temperatures will rise to around 35°C inland, 29°C along western coastal areas, around 31°C across the remaining coastal regions and 26°C in the higher mountains.

Cooler overnight temperatures

Tonight, skies will remain mostly clear.

Winds will become mainly north-westerly to north-easterly at around 3 Beaufort, while the sea will stay calm to slightly rough.

Temperatures will fall to around 18°C inland and along northern coastal areas, around 20°C in the remaining coastal regions and 16°C in higher mountainous areas.

Change expected on Friday

Wednesday and Thursday are expected to remain mostly clear, preserving the summer weather pattern across Cyprus.

On Friday, developing cloud formations during midday and the afternoon may bring isolated showers or thunderstorms, particularly in mountainous areas and inland regions.

Temperatures will record a slight rise through Thursday before easing slightly on Friday, remaining close to or slightly above average seasonal levels.
