Powerful explosions hit Tehran
A series of powerful explosions struck Tehran on Friday as the war between the United States, Israel and Iran entered its 14th day.
The blasts occurred around 10:00 local time (08:30 Cyprus time) and were described as unusually strong. According to AFP journalists in the Iranian capital, the explosions were powerful enough to shake apartments located kilometres apart in northern and central Tehran.
The Israeli military said it had launched a “large wave of strikes targeting infrastructure of the Iranian regime across Tehran”, according to a brief statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Meanwhile, the Israeli military issued an urgent evacuation warning to residents in parts of Tehran ahead of planned airstrikes.
“In the coming hours, the Israel Defense Forces will operate in the area, as it has done in recent days across Tehran, to strike military infrastructure of the Iranian regime,” an IDF spokesperson said in Persian.
“For your safety and well-being, we ask that you immediately leave the area indicated on the map,” the statement added.
