The Cyprus Tax Department has announced that individuals filing income tax returns without accounts for the 2025 tax year can submit their returns and pay the tax due by November 30, 2026, without interest or monetary charges.
Under the original deadline, taxpayers were required to submit their returns and pay the outstanding tax by October 31, 2026. The extension of the penalty-free period follows a decision by the Commissioner of Taxation under the relevant tax legislation.
Taxpayers urged to submit returns on time
The Tax Department said the waiver applies provided taxpayers submit the relevant return and pay the corresponding taxes and contributions by November 30, 2026.
The announcement concerns individual income tax returns for the 2025 tax year where accounts are not required.
Warning over new TFA system
The department also warned that, due to the gradual transition to the new Tax For All (TFA) information system, it may no longer be possible from November 1, 2026, to change a tax return’s status from “Final Submission” to “Temporary Receipt”.
Taxpayers should therefore take care when submitting their returns, as making changes to a submission may become more difficult once the transition begins.
