Al Salmi tanker damaged, no casualties reported

A large oil tanker, the Al Salmi, was attacked while anchored at the port of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in an incident attributed to Iran, according to Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), cited by KUNA news agency early Wednesday.

Fire and damage reported

The tanker, fully loaded with crude oil, sustained damage from the attack, which triggered a fire onboard. Kuwait Petroleum Corporation warned of potential marine pollution due to the incident.

Casualties and ongoing assessment

No casualties have been reported so far. Authorities are currently assessing the extent of the damage to the vessel and monitoring the situation to prevent environmental hazards.
