A Syrian man reportedly caused chaos at Limassol General Hospital after discovering that his wife had been operated on in the presence of male nurses.
According to information from Sigma, in early November, a Syrian couple rushed to Limassol General Hospital for an emergency gynecological surgery due to the wife experiencing bleeding. Upon arrival, the husband informed the staff that he refused to allow a male gynecologist to perform the surgery or for any male nurse to touch his wife.
As a result, the surgery was conducted by the head of the gynecological department.
However, when the husband saw three male nurses leaving the operating room, he began shouting, kicking chairs, and threatening the staff. According to Sigma, he also called five or six of his Syrian friends, who waited for the nurses at the hospital entrance.
Police were called by the hospital staff to intervene. They escorted the patient’s husband outside, and one of his friends accompanied him, but no arrests were made.
The incident ended there, even though the alleged offenses took place in the presence of the police.
