Support scheme to provide 1,000 families with new baby equipment

Date:

The Deputy Minister announced a support scheme for new baby equipment aimed at helping families with essential items for infants.

The scheme will be available to families receiving the Guaranteed Minimum Income (EEE), as well as families receiving child benefit whose gross benefit is below €22,000.

The initiative is expected to support around 1,000 new families, providing targeted assistance based on their individual needs.

Support to begin in 2027

The Deputy Minister said the initiative goes beyond providing baby items, describing it as a more personalised approach to supporting mothers, children and families.

“It is not simply a package of baby items, but the personalisation of services so that we can be alongside every mother, every child and every family,” she said.

The support scheme is expected to be implemented during the first quarter of 2027.
