Student grants delayed, first payments next week

Date:

Student grants have been delayed this year, prompting frustration among eligible recipients.

Despite the end of July passing, the payments have yet to be deposited into beneficiaries’ accounts. According to officials, this year marks the first time that applications were processed entirely online, which contributed to the student grants being delayed.

Speaking to SigmaLive, relevant sources explained that the first payments will begin early next week, marking the start of the grant distribution process.

The Ministry has acknowledged the delay and assured students that the issue will not affect the total amount or their eligibility. However, this has done little to ease concerns among those who depend on the grant for living expenses.
