A weak low-pressure system is affecting the region today, bringing strong winds and dust in Cyprus and a mix of sunshine and clouds.
During the afternoon, locally increased cloud cover may lead to isolated showers or even a thunderstorm, mainly in the mountains. Winds will blow mainly from the northeast to southeast, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and occasionally strong at 5 Beaufort along windward coasts. The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to around 30°C inland, 29°C along the coasts, and 22°C in higher mountain areas.
Tonight, skies will be mostly clear, though some increased cloud cover is expected at times. Winds will shift mainly from the northwest to northeast, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, while the sea will remain calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to 16°C inland, around 19°C on the coast, and 12°C in the mountains.
On Thursday and Friday, the weather will remain mostly clear during the morning, with clouds building in the afternoon that could bring isolated showers or storms, mainly in the mountains and parts of the interior.
Saturday is forecast to be mostly sunny.
Temperatures will stay well above average through Thursday, with a slight drop expected on Friday and little change by Saturday.
