A weak low-pressure system and a strong westerly air flow are affecting the region, bringing changes to the weather scene.
Today, the weather will be intermittently partly cloudy, while in the afternoon isolated showers are expected, mainly in the west and mountainous areas. Winds will blow from the southwest to northwest, moderate to strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort, and in some areas, especially windward locations, they will strengthen to very strong, reaching up to 6 Beaufort.
The sea will be rough, while in the western and northern coastal areas it will be up to very rough. Temperatures will reach 19°C inland and on the western coast, around 21°C on the remaining coastal areas, and 8°C in the higher mountains.
In the evening, the weather will remain locally partly cloudy, with a chance of isolated showers mainly in mountainous regions. Winds will gradually shift to north-westerly to northerly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will gradually become rough, with western and northern areas remaining up to very rough, while the southern and eastern coasts will be slightly to moderately rough.
During the night, the temperature will drop to 6°C inland, 11°C on the western coast, around 9°C on the rest of the coast, and 0°C in the higher mountains, where local frost may form.
On Saturday, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy at times, with a chance of isolated showers, mainly in mountainous areas.
On Sunday, local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected from time to time, while on the higher peaks of the Troodos mountains there is a possibility of sleet or even snow.
On Monday, the unsettled weather continues with partly cloudy skies and occasional isolated showers or thunderstorms. On the peaks of Troodos, there remains a possibility of sleet or snow.
Temperatures will remain at the same levels, which are below the climatic averages for the season.
