Stolen car chase in Ayia Napa – warning shots fired

Police announced that officers, acting on information, located a stolen vehicle around 1:30 AM in an Ayia Napa area during the stolen vehicle chase.

They signaled the driver to stop for inspection, but he accelerated to escape.

Collision with Police vehicles

During his escape attempt, the driver collided with two police vehicles, prompting warning shots to halt him.

The car then entered the opposite lane of the Larnaca-Ayia Napa highway and, upon exiting, crashed into a third police vehicle.

Driver flees into British Bases area

The driver headed onto a dirt road in a British Bases-controlled area, abandoned the stolen vehicle, and fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Three police vehicles sustained minor damage. The case is under investigation by Ayia Napa Police Station and Famagusta Traffic Department.
