Installations continue island-wide
The rollout of smart meters in Cyprus is continuing throughout April, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) announced, with installations taking place across all districts.
The large-scale programme aims to upgrade electricity infrastructure, with smart meters Cyprus being installed in selected areas in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Famagusta and Paphos.
Areas in Nicosia
In Nicosia, installations will take place in:
Latsia:
• East of Yiannos Kranidiotis Avenue, from Agiou Georgiou Street up to Megalou Alexandrou Avenue
• Along both sides of Agiou Georgiou Street and Dimitri Stavrou Avenue
Dali:
• Ilioupoli and Kallithea areas
• Along both sides of the Nicosia–Limassol motorway, from Rizokarpasou and Eleftheriou Venizelou streets up to the Idalion industrial area
Tseri:
• Entire municipality of Tseri
Limassol installation zones
In Limassol, smart meters Cyprus installations will focus on:
Limassol city:
• Area between 28th October Avenue, Archbishop Makarios III Avenue and Griva Digeni, Gladstonos and Anexartisias streets
Larnaca and Famagusta areas
Larnaca:
Oroklini:
• Entire community
Famagusta:
Deryneia:
• Town centre
• Along both sides of Archbishop Makarios III and Stadiou streets
Paphos rollout locations
In Paphos, installations will take place in:
Geroskipou:
• North of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue up to Evagora Pallikaridi Street
Brief power interruptions expected
The Electricity Authority noted that for the safe replacement of meters, a temporary power interruption will be required.
The outage is not expected to exceed 20 minutes. The authority apologised for any inconvenience caused as the smart meters Cyprus rollout continues.
