Shocking statistics: 43 road deaths 1 month before year’s end

Date:

An alarming rise in fatal road accidents compared to previous years has sparked serious concern.

In 2022, 37 fatalities were recorded on the roads, while in 2023, the number dropped to 33. However, this year, as of today, 43 road deaths have already been reported.

As police spokesperson Kyriaki Lambrianidou noted, “This figure is concerning for our small country. Clearly, more needs to be done. The human factor always plays a significant role in these collisions.”

She emphasised the need to cultivate a road safety culture from a young age, as the recent fatalities often involve young individuals losing their lives.
