“Santis case”: 10 points raising doubts over initial narrative

Date:

When Makarios Drousiotis published his lengthy post on March 30 titled “The dark side of the rule of law in Cyprus”, it presented serious allegations structured as a narrative rather than clearly linked claims.

In the days that followed, numerous statements, accusations and confirmed facts emerged, some of which challenge the initial narrative when viewed without interpretation. The report focuses on key points based strictly on factual elements, raising questions without drawing conclusions, as the authenticity of the evidence, especially the messages, remains under investigation.

Allegations of abuse were reportedly denied by “Santis” during police questioning, while no supporting evidence was identified in the available messages. There are also contradictions regarding her age, children and the timeline of events.

Disputes over the authenticity of the messages intensified, with “Santis” allegedly stating they were fabricated, while Drousiotis maintains they are genuine. A forensic examination found no indication that messages attributed to Dimitris Papadakis were sent from his devices.

Questions have also been raised about financial evidence and images presented, including possible inconsistencies. At the same time, authorities are examining whether specialized software capable of generating fake messages may have been used.

Inconsistencies in statements by Nikos Clerides, along with delays in reporting the allegations, add further uncertainty. Additional claims have further complicated the case and influenced public perception.

The outcome now depends on the ongoing investigations, particularly whether the messages in question are proven to be authentic or fabricated.
