Cyprus Police recorded a total of 1,226 cases and offences between January 1 and August 31, 2026, as part of its targeted Road Policing operations.
According to figures released by the Police, the largest categories were other offences, with 335 cases, and fine warrants, with 326.
A further 236 cases involved wanted, sought or missing persons.
Drugs, vehicles and illegal stay
The figures also include 148 cases involving people described by police as illegally staying in Cyprus.
Police reported 81 cases involving drugs or controlled medicines.
A further 70 cases concerned stolen vehicles, illegally possessed vehicles or vehicles wanted by the authorities.
Weapons and stolen property
Police also recorded 13 cases involving the illegal possession of firearms, explosives or offensive weapons.
Another 17 cases involved stolen property or the illegal possession of property.
The Road Policing Cyprus operations form part of an ongoing police effort to prevent offending and enhance road safety, according to the Cyprus Police.
