Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it destroyed an Amazon data centre in Bahrain as part of retaliatory attacks following US strikes against Iran.
In a statement broadcast on Iranian television, the IRGC said its forces “targeted and destroyed” a building belonging to the US company Amazon in Bahrain, claiming the facility played an important role in intelligence gathering for the US military.
No confirmation from Amazon or Bahrain
Neither Amazon, the global e-commerce and technology company, nor Bahraini authorities have so far commented on the claim.
The IRGC said it considers any facility made available to the US military for operations against Iranian territory to be a legitimate target.
Previous unconfirmed claims
During previous Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain, Iranian forces had also claimed responsibility for striking an Amazon facility. That claim was not independently confirmed.
