Renewed concern over sea pollution in Limassol

Date:

Disturbing images have emerged from the coastal area of Limassol, highlighting concerns over sea pollution.

Video footage received by SigmaLive on Monday morning from the Agios Tychonas area shows the extent of the problem, with the sea appearing to be filled with contaminants from the shallow waters.

Calls for a solution

Limassol’s sea pollution is attributed to multiple factors both on land and at sea, according to Amathus Mayor Kyriakos Xydias.

Speaking last week, Xydias said Limassol’s municipalities were demanding a solution to the problem. He also confirmed a report concerning the relocation of a drainage pipe connected to a tower currently under construction.
