President Nikos Christodoulides described his Monday visit to Israel and participation in the trilateral summit as “very important.” The Cyprus-Greece-Israel trilateral aims to create security and cooperation conditions in the broader Middle East through positive approach collaboration.
He noted bilateral meetings first with the Israeli Prime Minister and President on energy, defense, innovation, and tourism relations.
Strong bilateral ties
Christodoulides highlighted 186 weekly flights between Cyprus and Israel as indicative of strong relations. He observed many Israeli visitors at the Lefkara EU Presidency presentation.

The 10th trilateral meeting precedes Cyprus’s EU Presidency, including the informal European Council on April 23-24, where the EU will present concrete projects for the region.
These trilateral cooperations with Israel, Egypt, and other states strengthen EU ties with the wider Middle East.
