Low pressure is affecting Cyprus, bringing unstable weather across the island.
Today the weather will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy. Local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected at times. Hail may fall during thunderstorms, while snow or sleet cannot be ruled out on the highest peaks of the Troodos Mountains.
Winds will initially be variable, blowing moderate to strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort. In some areas they may reach 6 Beaufort, with gusts locally up to 7 Beaufort. Later they will turn mainly west to northwest, remaining strong.
The sea will be rough to very rough.
Temperatures will reach around 17°C inland, about 20°C along the coast and around 9°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight there will be locally increased cloud cover, which may bring isolated showers in western areas. Winds will be mainly southwest to west, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort and locally up to 5 Beaufort. The sea will remain rough.
Temperatures will drop to around 9°C inland, about 11°C on the coast and near 2°C in the higher mountains, where frost may form in some areas.
On Monday the weather will be partly cloudy, with a chance of isolated showers mainly in mountainous areas during midday hours.
On Tuesday and Wednesday periods of increased cloud cover are expected, while isolated showers may occur on Wednesday.
Temperatures will rise slightly on Monday, mainly inland, reaching levels close to seasonal averages. They are expected to remain at similar levels on Tuesday and Wednesday.
