Rainfall exceeds 128% of normal in Polis Chrysochous

Rainfall recorded from 1 December until today, Thursday 11 December, amounts to 64% of the normal for the month, according to data from the Department of Meteorology.

Overall, the average rainfall recorded in the free areas since the beginning of the month amounts to 67.2 millimetres, with the normal rainfall for December amounting to 105.6 millimetres.

From 1 October until today, rainfall stands at just 54% of the normal for the period.

By area, only Polis Chrysochous has exceeded the normal rainfall for the month at 128%. Stavros tis Psokas and Gefyri Panagias follow at 93% of the normal for the month, and Athienou at 92%. Nicosia (Athalassa) stands at 86%.

The lowest rainfall relative to normal December levels was recorded in Saittas (31%) and Paphos Airport (32%).
