Clouds today, rain expected from Wednesday
The Cyprus weather forecast indicates partly cloudy conditions on Tuesday, with increasing cloud cover at times across the island. Winds will initially be variable and weak at around 3 Beaufort, later becoming mainly north-easterly to south-easterly, weak to locally moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be generally slight to a little rough.
Temperatures will rise to around 19°C inland and on the south-east coast, about 18°C on the rest of the coasts, and around 11°C in the higher mountains.
Fog overnight, dust in the atmosphere
Tonight, the weather will be mostly cloudy with medium and high clouds, while later and mainly during the early morning hours, thin fog may form, especially in inland areas. Winds will blow mainly north-easterly to south-easterly, weak to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, becoming locally moderate on the coast later. The sea will remain slight to a little rough.
Temperatures will drop to around 7°C inland, near 10°C on the coasts, and around 5°C in the higher mountains. Dust will be present in the atmosphere, with concentrations expected to increase later in the day on Wednesday.
Rain and possible storms from Wednesday
According to the Cyprus weather forecast, Wednesday will be partly to mostly cloudy, with isolated rain expected in the afternoon. From the evening onwards, rain is expected in many areas, with a chance of an isolated thunderstorm.
On Thursday and Friday, the weather will remain partly to mostly cloudy, with local showers and isolated thunderstorms. Hail is possible during storms, while sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. Dust will also remain in the atmosphere, with temporarily increased concentrations mainly on Thursday.
Temperatures to drop slightly
Temperatures are not expected to change significantly on Wednesday, but a gradual drop is forecast by Friday, bringing values close to or slightly below average for the season, according to the Cyprus weather forecast.
