Rain and storms expected – Temperatures to hit 39°C

Seasonal low pressure is affecting the area.

The weather will be mainly clear today, although locally increased cloud will gradually develop, particularly after midday. Isolated rain cannot be ruled out in mountainous areas.

Winds will initially be variable and light at 3 Beaufort, gradually becoming mainly south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be generally calm to slightly rough.

Temperatures will rise to around 39°C inland, 32°C on the western and south-western coasts, 34°C on other coastal areas and 28°C in the highest mountains.

Clear tonight with possible fog

Tonight, the weather will remain mainly clear, while temporarily increased low cloud will occur along coastal areas. Later and during the early morning hours, thin fog or fog may form locally, mainly in the south-east.

Winds will gradually become downslope and light at 3 Beaufort, while the sea will remain calm to slightly rough.

Temperatures will fall to around 23°C inland and on the coasts, and around 17°C in the highest mountains.

Showers and thunderstorms through Saturday

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the weather will be mainly clear across most areas, with temporarily increased cloud.

However, clouds developing after midday over the mountains and inland areas are expected to produce isolated showers and thunderstorms. During the evening and morning hours, local thin fog or fog, along with increased low cloud, is also expected.

The weather on Thursday is not expected to change significantly, with temperatures remaining above the seasonal average. By Saturday, however, temperatures will gradually fall slightly, temporarily returning to levels close to the seasonal average.
