The Cyprus Independent Authority Against Corruption is investigating a third former Member of Parliament over possible offences including fraud and embezzlement through a non-profit company he allegedly founded and managed.
According to a report by local media, the corruption probe began following complaints and includes testimony from House officials and state officers.
The former MP is expected to be the last to testify in the ongoing investigation, while he has denied all allegations.
€1.3 million in funding under scrutiny
The non-profit organisation under investigation is reported to have received around €1.3 million in European and national funding.
Authorities are examining how the funds were managed and whether any misuse occurred.
Independent investigators appointed
The investigation is being handled by former judge Sotiris Liasides and lawyer Nicolas P. Constantinou, who previously co-authored a report recommending prosecution in a separate high-profile case involving former EDEK leader Marinos Sizopoulos.

The report also notes that Liasides is part of the investigative team in the so-called “Mafia State” case, which is expected to examine additional issues involving former MP George Varnavas.
The probe remains ongoing, with further developments expected as testimony continues.
