The prices of kourabiedes and melomakarona are at the same levels as last year, according to the President of the Cyprus Bakers Association, Lakis Savvides.
Speaking on Protoselido, he noted that “most bakers have kept the same prices as last year, but not everywhere; it also depends on the quality of the dessert.”
He emphasised that “Cyprus’s prices are very low compared to Greece, where prices for kourabiedes and melomakarona can reach up to €20 per kilo.”
When asked if he is satisfied with the performance of his colleagues, he replied, “Yes, but this is only for this period; after Christmas, there’s a ‘dry spell.'”
Finally, he mentioned that there are no diet versions of kourabiedes and melomakarona, but there are other desserts available that contain stevia.
