President visits Tylliria-Polis on Saturday announcing rural projects

Date:

Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides is expected to announce new projects during a visit on Saturday, in Tylliria and Polis Chrysochous, on the northwestern coast of Cyprus, while continuing the dialogue with civil society, Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis has announced.

In a written statement, Letymbiotis says that the visit is part of the government’s policy to listen to what society really needs and cares about, as an expression of its “determination to solve longstanding problems and improve the quality of life for the people in mountainous and rural areas.”

The visit follows another tour by the President in Amiantos village, in Troodos and is part of a series of visits in all districts.

The President will announce and will refer extensively to new projects and political actions to strengthen these particular areas, on the basis of his governance program, as part of the broader central planning for all districts, Letymbiotis adds.

He refers to the community of Kato Pyrgos, which was selected as the first Green Community in Cyprus, following a predetermined roadmap with specific policies and actions. He also notes that on Saturday a revitalisation plan for Tylliria will be presented.

The President will be accompanied by competent Ministers and Deputy Ministers, who will present the actions and policies that will be announced, the Government Spokesman concludes.
