President approves Kenan Ayaz release from detention

President Nikos Christodoulides approved the release of Kurdish national Kenan Ayaz, signing the decision on Friday, the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) reports.

Detention details

Kenan Ayaz had been in custody since March 2023 and was previously extradited from Germany.

Presidential approval

According to CNA, the request for Ayaz’s release was formally approved, with President Christodoulides signing the relevant documents last Friday.
