Police preventive operations continue across Cyprus

Nationwide arrests and inspections

Cyprus police maintained preventive operations throughout the night, focusing on urban areas to prevent serious crime, protect citizens, and uphold public order.

Authorities arrested 12 individuals nationwide for various offences, including illegal stay in Cyprus, unlawful possession of property, outstanding fines, illegal employment, and possession of burglary tools.

Traffic and vehicle enforcement

During investigations into traffic offences, police seized four vehicles. Officers also conducted over 540 traffic checks, resulting in more than 110 citations, including 37 for speeding violations.

Premises inspections

Police carried out inspections at 29 premises to detect and prevent illegal activity. Twelve establishments received official notices for various violations.

Strengthening public safety

These operations form part of a continuous, enhanced preventive plan, featuring increased police presence, targeted inspections, and rapid response across all districts to reduce crime and boost public safety.
