Police patrol Cyprus with seven arrests and 176 complaints

Cyprus Police intensified their presence across the island last night, conducting organised patrols in key urban areas to prevent serious crimes, maintain public order, and increase public safety.

Arrests and preventive operations

During these operations, authorities arrested seven individuals for various offences, including:

  • Causing grievous bodily harm
  • Illegal residence in Cyprus
  • Illegal possession of property
  • Illegal possession of narcotics

Road and establishment checks

Throughout the night, 565 drivers and passengers were stopped and checked. Police also conducted 25 inspections of businesses to curb criminal activity, resulting in two reports.

Traffic enforcement resulted in 176 citations for various violations and 11 ongoing investigations. Notably, 69 drivers were fined for exceeding speed limits, and six vehicles were impounded.

Ongoing crime prevention

Coordinated police operations continue daily with enhanced presence, targeted checks, and rapid response actions, aiming to protect citizens, uphold public order, and strengthen the community’s sense of safety.
