A police officer in Nicosia was arrested today in connection with an investigation into allegations of interference in judicial proceedings, threats, assault causing actual bodily harm, and stalking.
According to a police statement, the complaint was made on Tuesday to the Nicosia CID by a 48-year-old woman.
“The investigation process began immediately after the complainant’s report, and the police carried out all necessary actions with absolute transparency,” the statement said.
The police emphasised their responsibility to safeguard public safety, noting that “such actions are inconsistent with the values, principles, and standards we adopt and strive to uphold in our organisation.”
The case is being investigated by the Nicosia CID.
