The police arrested another individual yesterday under a court warrant in connection with an attack to a food delivery rider in Ypsonas.
The latest suspect, a 20-year-old, has been taken into custody to assist with ongoing investigations.
Incident details
According to investigators, around 7:30 p.m. on 8 February, a 24-year-old food delivery rider collided with another motorcyclist on a road in the Ypsonas area under circumstances still under review.
After the collision, the second motorcyclist reportedly attacked the 24-year-old and demanded money as “compensation” for damages to his motorcycle. Additional individuals arrived at the scene and allegedly assaulted the victim while pressuring him to hand over money.
Theft and police response
The suspects then reportedly stole the victim’s mobile phone and cash before fleeing the scene. Police officers attended for forensic examinations. The 24-year-old was transported by ambulance to a hospital, received medical attention, and was discharged the same evening.
Investigation and public assistance
On 11 February 2026, police released photographs of five individuals to gather information that could lead to their identification or location.
Previously, another 20-year-old had been arrested and remains in custody for eight days, while four other suspects are still being sought.
