Platres exchanges practices with EU municipalities via twinning

A twinning ceremony of the We4Green Town project for the community of Platres in Cyprus and the municipalities of Jelgava, Suwalki, La Palma del Condado, Ottiglio, Camagna Monferrato, Rosignano Monferrato, Sala Monferrato, Cella Monte, Ozzano Monferrato, held in Monferrato, Italy, included exchanges of best practices and practical experiences that can be replicated, a press release issued by the Platres community said on Monday.

According to the press release, the EU-funded WE4GREEN project brought together 13 municipalities and communities to work together, inspired by the EU values of democracy, freedom, anti-discrimination and above all the green transition.

It is noted that the WE4GREEN EU Funded project has brought together 13 municipalities, to collaborate and cooperate, inspired by the EU values for democracy, freedom, fight against the discriminations and above all Green transition.

The We4Green Town twinning ceremony for Platres, Jelgava, Suwalki, La Palma del Condado, Ottiglio, Camagna Monferrato, Rosignano Monferrato, Sala Monferrato, Cella Monte, Ozzano Monferrato, took place in Monferrato, and included exchanges of best practices and hands on experiences which can be replicated, but above all has set strong foundations for further cooperations based on trust, professionalism and friendship, the press release said.

It is added that “twinning is an EU institution building tool bringing public sector expertise from EU Member States in support of reform processes around the world.”

It is also mentioned that according to the Eurocities Pulse Mayors Survey, climate action remains by far the top priority for 2024, with more than half of mayors selecting it for the second year running.
