Pieros Sotiriou bids heartfelt farewell to his team in Japan

Date:

“Every moment I experienced will remain forever in my heart”

Pieros Sotiriou has decided not to continue his football career in Japan and, after returning to Cyprus a few days ago, reunited with his family and began considering his next professional destination.

On Tuesday afternoon, 17 December, through an Instagram post, Sotiriou expressed his gratitude and bid farewell after spending significant moments of his life in Hiroshima.

“A fantastic journey has come to an end, as after 2.5 years, it’s time to say goodbye to Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
I bid farewell feeling lucky and blessed to have had the opportunity to play for this historic club.

Every moment I experienced will remain forever in my heart.
The highlight of my time here was winning the Levain Cup in 2022, scoring two of the most important goals in my career.

I thank the fans of the team for their love and support towards me and my family.
We were thousands of kilometers away from our home, but every day they made us feel like we were right at home.

I thank the coach, the Sporting Director, and the Management for their trust in me.
I thank my teammates for everything we went through together.
I thank the medical staff and the entire team personnel who were always by my side.
Thank you all!
I will always be your loyal fan!
Best of luck in the future.”
