Reactions continue over the video leaked yesterday featuring alleged investors, concerning 2023 President Christodoulides campaign cash management and First Lady’s fund contributions.
Paphos Mayor Phaidonas Phaidonos posted on Facebook, firing salvos while referencing his prior warning about a “former Minister buying a safe.”
He reiterated: “Money doesn’t move only through banks. It circulates in cash too.”
Demands for donor transparency
Phaidonos targeted the “Social Support Fund” managed by the First Lady at the Presidential Palace. He stated: “Stop pretending not to know what’s really happening with the notorious ‘Social Support Fund’ under the President’s wife. We remember the President fought to keep donor anonymity. Now we know why.”
He demanded immediate publication of all Presidential fund donors without exceptions. If the Palace refuses, Parliament should impose it via law. “Our country is humiliated again,” he added.
Recall the video features President’s Office Director Charalambos Charalambous, former Energy Minister George Lakotrypis, and Cyfield CEO George Chryschoos.

“On September 10, 2025, I referred to a former Minister who bought a safe.
I said clearly: Money doesn’t move only through banks. It circulates in cash.
Today, with the publicized video, we hear the President’s Office Director and Mr. Lakotrypis confirm exactly that: lots of cash circulates, following specific routes.
Stop the hypocrisy with underground funding and black political money. Stop pretending not to know what’s really happening with the notorious ‘Social Support Fund’ operating at the Presidential under the President’s wife.
We remember the President himself fought to keep donor anonymity. Now we know why. This regime cannot continue.
Immediate new start: Publish names of those who contributed to the Presidential Fund.
Without exceptions.
And if the Palace doesn’t agree, let Parliament impose it by law. Our country is humiliated again. Society must finally learn to distinguish truth.”
