Petroleum product sales down by 2.3% in Q1

Total sales of petroleum products decreased by 2.3% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year, according to data released Monday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

Total stocks of petroleum products at the end of March 2025 fell by 2.1% compared to the end of the previous month.

According to the Statistical Service, in March 2025, total sales of petroleum products reached 107,291 tonnes, recording a decrease of 0.8% compared to March 2024.

A decline was recorded in the sales of kerosene (-31.4%), asphalt (-28.9%), heating gasoil (-22.5%), liquefied petroleum gases (-5.1%), and road diesel (-4.4%).

On the contrary, an increase was observed in the provisions of marine gasoil (14.6%) and aviation kerosene (4.7%), as well as in the sales of light fuel oil (14.0%), heavy fuel oil (28.7%), and motor gasoline (0.8%).

As far as sales from filling stations are concerned, according to the Statistical Service, these showed a decrease of 1.5% to 55,584 tonnes.

Compared to February 2025, total sales of petroleum products in March 2025 recorded a decline of 4.0%.
